Reasons why I think the casino should be set up
1. come on...its like...21st century already...
2. the size of singapore = puny = not many places of interests. think night safari, zoo, bird park, sentosa...the now defunct haw par villa which i havent gone to in my whole life....the mind should now spell B-O-R-I-N-G rite? n with the "integrated resort" in singapore...it'll neva be boring anymore
3. the chingay is only for 2 days...think landscape of globalisation...whereas the integrated resort wun move (unless they tear it down)..ok too much of project here..
4. the policemen in singapore are too free. come on...u cant disagree with me rite? singapore is safe...yes....so to really test the competency of them...the resort should be set up...see how efficient the police are in terms of minimising crime rates...loansharks appearing etc....
5. the very fact that singaporeans go overseas to gamble - come on...y let the money flow out...thats lesser gnp/gdp u noe....y dun let the money circulate within singapore...and also bring in an injection of funds from overseas....think jc2 econs...the chapter taught by..beetsma i think...i cant rem who...or is it armpit ang..hahah...or that gross maggie goh?
6. the argument that pple will gamble until they go bankrupt then will have social repurcussions like family splitting up, abuse at home - if they really have no self control...they deserve to go bankrupt....wah i sound damn evil here....but..true wat.....self control is most impt
7. (look above)..thats when social workers will come in...n that gives me a job when i graduate!!! now i sound damn selfish....hahahha.....
8. since we have jackpot machines at country clubs (which equals to a mini casino)..wats the problem of having an actual casino? country club membership needs to be bought with $$$...similarly going into the casino..one needs $$$ as well
9. actually i dun realli wish to be a social worker too....so...ok if the resort is really set up....tourism rate should increase too...equals to the hotel industry should pick up too...= i will be able to get a job in the hotel industry!!! (which is my first choice job btw)....*evil laughter*....me so selfish again hor...hahahah....
10. the kids will have a new hangout...since the integrated resort will cater to children also since its "integrated"...
ok those r the reasons i can think so far....basically it boils down to the economic gains la....ya the argument is the casino wun bring in that much revenue...but come on...it will definitely bring in the revenue....with singapore's status...it will be...plus singapore is safe some more..n cosmopolitan n stuff...of cos we cant be as high up as genting..but at least those pple who wan to come here dun need to risk major car accidents as compared to the road to genting...the north-south highway..come on..the accident rates there r high...n almost always fatal...i get jitters thinking bout the recent accident involving the bus of singaporeans.....
i suddenly tot that the durian could be converted to the casino leh....tink it would be quite suitable...hahahah......oh wait..no no...its gonna be a integrated resort...so that durian isnt big enuff........
honestly i cant wait for the gov to decide whether the resort would be set up...technically i think they oredi decided...since the name "raffles casino" has already been booked....but if they realli decide on it...i dun tink they will use that name..if not its more obvious that the decision had been made long ago n the public would be unhappy.....but yet..on the other hand.....if its given the green light....most of the public would not be happy too....n since the elections is gonna be this yr (i think)....would that party risk it? i mean....the empire will wanna continue their reign rite? hhahahahahhahaha....i tink the decision boils down to only 1 person....or maybe 2....of cos i shant say any names...time to let ur minds think....but its pretty obvious la....HOR......
